THE CALL TO CONFESSION
THE PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Almighty God, you know the burdens we carry and the weight of them on our
lives. Forgive our self-sufficiency. We have become so adept at planning, performing,
staying busy that sometimes we forget the importance of relying on you
and the rest that you can provide. Forgive us for forgetting that in times of
weakness and hour of need yours is the strength by which we should rely. We
give this burden to you, mindful of Jesus’ promise that he will give us rest. Amen
A MOMENT OF SILENCE (for examination of conscience and personal prayers of confession)
THE ASSURANCE OF PARDON
One: Our God is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
All: When we fall, God is there to help us up again.
One: Friends, believe the good news
All: In Jesus Christ we are forgiven.
*THE CONGREGATIONAL RESPONSE (Hymn 446)
Glorious things of thee are spoken, Zion, city of our God; God, whose word cannot be

All: We lift them to the Lord.
One: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
All: It is right to give thanks and praise.
One: It is truly right…
Therefore we praise you, joining our voices with choirs of angels and with all the faithful of every time and place, who forever sing to the glory of your name.
Sanctus: Holy, holy, holy, Lord, God of power and might, (Hymn 581)
Heaven and earth are full of your glory; Hosanna in the highest.
Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the
