11 A.M. WORSHIP
THE GATHERING Aaron Shepherd
Leader: The Lord be with you.
People: And also with you.
THE PRELUDE Intermezzo from Sonata No. 3 Joseph Rheinberger
*THE CALL TO WORSHIP
Leader: The earth is the Lord’s and all that is in it, the world, and those who live in it;
People: For God has founded it on the seas, and established it on the rivers.
Leader: Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord? And who shall stand in God’s holy place?
People: Those who have clean hands and pure hearts, who do not lift up their souls to what is false, and do not swear deceitfully.
Leader: They will receive blessings from the Lord, and vindication from the God of their salvation. Let us worship the Lord.
- Psalm 24:1-5
*THE PROCESSIONAL HYMN 455 All Creatures of Our God and King
verses 1, 2, 5, 6
THE CALL TO CONFESSION
THE PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Holy holy, holy Lord, you are the God of glory and worthy of joyful praise. We con-fess that we often underestimate your holiness and rather than worshipping you throughout the week, we forget you in the busyness, hide from you in our sin and make excuses for our actions and inaction. Forgive us and return us to a right relation-ship with you for the sake of Jesus Christ. You made us to glorify you and enjoy you forever. By the power of your Holy Spirit, help us fulfill our purpose in ways that bring you glory. Amen.
A MOMENT OF SILENCE (for examination of conscience and personal prayers of confession)
THE ASSURANCE OF PARDON
Leader: God destined us for adoption as children through Jesus Christ, according to the good pleasure of God’s will,
People: To the praise of God’s glorious grace, freely bestowed on us in the Beloved.
Leader: In Christ we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace that he lavished on us. Believe the promise of the gospel:
People: In Jesus Christ we are forgiven. Alleluia. Amen.
- Ephesians 1:5-8

*THE APOSTLES’ CREED
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.
THE PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE AND THE LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.
