*THE CALL TO WORSHIP
Leader: Bless the Lord, O my soul. O Lord my God, you are very great. You are clothed with honor and majesty, wrapped in light as with a garment.
People: You stretch out the heavens like a tent, you set the beams of your chambers on the waters, you make the clouds your chariot, you ride on the wings of the wind, you make the winds your messengers, fire and flame your ministers.
Leader: Let us worship God, our creator, redeemer and sustainer. - Psalm 104:1-4
*THE PROCESSIONAL HYMN 478 Praise, My Soul, the King of Heaven LAUDA ANIMA
THE CALL TO CONFESSION
THE PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Eternal God, creator of the earth and all that is in it, you have made us to glorify you, to praise you, and make you known through all the earth. You have called us by name, made us holy and charged us with being our people. We are humbled by the trust you place in us to mediate your grace to a hurting world. And we admit that we have failed. We have not been free givers of grace. We have not lived as testimonies to your goodness. We have fallen short of the calling you have entrusted to us. So forgive us we pray, and work in us that we might learn and live as you have created us to be. In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.
A MOMENT OF SILENCE (for examination of conscience and personal prayers of confession)
THE ASSURANCE OF PARDON
Leader: From now on, therefore, we regard no one form a human point of view; even though we once knew Christ from a human point of view, we know him no longer in that way.
People: So if anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation: everything old has passed away, see, everything has become new.
Leader: Believe the promise of the Gospel
People: In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven! -2 Corinthians 5:1-17
*THE CONGREGATIONAL RESPONSE (Number 481)
Praise the Lord, great mercies trace, Alleluia! Praise this providence and grace, Alleluia! All that God for us has done, Alleluia! All God sends us through the son. Alleluia!
*THE PEACE OF CHRIST

People: And also with you.

Oh! For a closer walk with God, a calm and heavenly frame: a light to shine upon the road that leads me to the Lamb! Return, O holy dove, return! Sweet messenger of rest, I hate the sins that made thee mourn, and drove thee from my breast. So shall my walk be close with God, calm and serene my frame; so purer light shall mark the road that leads me to the Lamb. (text: W. Cowper)
