*THE CALL TO WORSHIP
Leader: The heavens are telling the glory of God; and the firmament proclaims God’s handiwork.
People: Day to day pours forth speech and night declares knowledge.
Leader: There is no speech nor are there words; their voice is not heard; yet their voice goes out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world.
People: The heavens are telling the glory of God, and the firmament proclaims God’s handiwork. Let us worship God!
Leader: Let us worship God, creator, redeemer and sustainer. Amen. -Psalm 19:1-4
*THE PROCESSIONAL HYMN 473 For the Beauty of the Earth DIX
THE CALL TO CONFESSION
THE PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Eternal God, from the moment of our birth, you lay before us the capacity for wonder. You give us an endless abundance of blessings to count - eyes to see, ears to hear, noses to smell - our senses are filled with all you have made. And in giving us wonder, you give us as well the capacity for understanding. Truly, we are fearfully and wonderfully made, and all of life pours out before us, hungering to abound. Its fullness is not made by us, but you - ours is only the call to find; to discover your abundance - and to give thanks. Forgive us for forgetting that all that we have and all that we are comes from you. Forgive us for behaving as though life belongs to us and not to you. And in for-giving us, continue your work of making us, fearfully and wonderfully, into disciples of Jesus Christ, in whose name we make our prayers.
A MOMENT OF SILENCE (for examination of conscience and personal prayers of confession)
THE ASSURANCE OF PARDON
Leader: So if you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.
People: Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth, for you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
Leader: When Christ who is your life is revealed, then you also will be revealed with him in glory. Believe the promise of the Gospel:
People: In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven! -Colossians 3:1-4

* THE APOSTLES’ CREED
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Vir-gin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descend-ed into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.
THE PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE AND THE LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.
