THOUGHT OF THE WEEK
"Try to help others. Consult their weaknesses, relieve their maladies; strive to raise them up, and by so doing you will most effectually raise yourself up also." -Joseph Barber Lightfoot
NEW MEMBER CLASS
Morningside Presbyterian Church welcomes all who are interested in becoming a member. Join us for our New Member Class this Sunday, April 24 at 9:45 a.m. Friends and family are welcome! For any questions, please contact Baron Mullis baron.mullis@morningsidepc.org.
THE ORGAN PIPES SHALL SOUND
The last rank of organ pipes finally has been installed and will be featured this Sunday in the Organ Prelude. The bright metal pipes can be seen at the front of each organ chamber in the chancel area. We have been waiting for these pipes since 2007 because the organ company that makes the pipes went into bankruptcy shortly after the pipes were ordered. With this installation the organ now is complete according to its builder, Robert Coulter. The next phase will be rebuilding the organ console.
SERVE A MEAL AT JOURNEY MEN'S SHELTER
Sunday, May 1st, will be Pick-a-Pan Sunday. There will be foil pans and instructions in the narthex for those who wish to help the thirty men of Journey shelter on Sunday, May 8th. We need two volunteers to bring a main dish for 15, two for a vegetable or side dish for 15, two for salad and bread for 30, one to bring dessert for 30, one to bring drinks for 30, and two volunteers to serve.
SATURDAY FUN AT MPP'S SPRING FLING
Our campus will become a playground for kids of all ages as Morningside Presbyterian Preschool presents "Spring Fling" Saturday, April 23, from 10 a.m.until 1 p.m. Be prepared to enjoy bounce houses, a petting zoo, a train, face painting and more. There will be foods to eat at the fun fair, as well as treats to take home! MPP's Spring Fling supports the annual budget of the preschool.
BIBLE SUNDAY
On Sunday, May 1, all Fourth and Fifth Grade students will have the opportunity to participate in Bible Sunday. MPC Children's Ministry wants every child to have their own Bible, and we want to make sure that every child who walks through our doors has the opportunity to learn and discover the wonderful messages from God that we find in the Bible. During the 11 a.m. worship service, the Fourth and Fifth Graders will receive their Bibles as a gift from the congregation.
