THOUGHT OF THE WEEK

"Let us go forward quietly, forever making for the light, and lifting up our hearts in the knowledge that we are as others are (and that others are as we are), and that it is right to love one another in the best possible way – believing all things, hoping for all things, and enduring all things.…And let us not be too troubled by our weaknesses, for even he who has none, has one weakness, namely that he thinks he has none, and anyone who believes himself to be so perfect or wise would do well to become foolish all over again."

PICK-A-PAN FOR CLIFTON
Many thanks to those who picked-all-the-pans on Sunday, volunteering to prepare dinner for the men at Clifton Sanctuary Ministries. Bring your dish to the Clifton Shelter by 5:30 p.m. or the Watson home (1397 Harvard Road) by 5:30 p.m. this Saturday, July 28th. Feel free to stay and enjoy the evening with the men; however, it is not necessary to stay and serve. Contact Ann Watson with questions.

RHO READERS
The RHO Readers Group meets at 11:30 a.m. in the Session Room. They are reading Born a Crime: Stories of a South African Childhood, by Trevor Noah. Trevor Noah’s memoir details his journey from apartheid in South Africa to hosting The Daily Show. His story begins with the criminal act of his birth. Trevor is the son of a white European father and a black African mother at a time when inter-racial relationships were illegal and carried a sentence of five years in prison.  He attributes his success not only to developing a great sense of humor, but also to the undying love and resilience of his mother. Please contact Jill Klotz for more information on joining the group.

MPC CHILDREN'S MINISTRY - BRIEF SURVEY
Morningside Families, help us to plan MPC Children's Ministry activities for the new school year. In case you did not receive the survey link in your email this past week, the link is provided below. (The survey should take less than five minutes!) Please respond within the next week so we may have the information for our August 6th Children's Ministry meeting. Thank you! Click here for the survey.

NOTE FROM REV. DR. BARON MULLIS
Dear sisters and brothers,
What a wonderful send off you gave to Lester and me on July 15. As we left Atlanta, our hearts were full. To everyone who sang and played beautiful music, to everyone who brought food, to everyone who arranged flowers, to the incomparable staff of Morningside Presbyterian church - to each of you - are due our sincere and lasting gratitude. Thank you.
We will hold you in our hearts,
Baron.
