THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK
Love divine, all loves excelling, joy of heaven to earth come down,
Fix in us thy humble dwelling, all thy faithful mercies crown;
Jesu, thou art all compassion, pure unbounded love thou art,
Visit us with thy salvation, enter every trembling heart.
-Charles Wesley

MPC RETREAT EARLY BIRD SPECIAL DEADLINE!!!
Registration for Morningside’s Annual Retreat at Montreat Conference Center is now open. Forms are available both online and in hardcopy form in the church office, as well as, attached to the Retreat Posters in the Narthex and Welcome Center. Early bird registration special: register before September 1st and receive $25 off! This year’s retreat begins Friday, October 19th and goes through Sunday, October 21st. James Klotz will be our speaker.
MESSAGE FROM OUR TREASURER
Just a reminder - Church expenses for operations and missions are fairly uniform through the year. Receipts from pledges and offerings tend to lag during the summer which puts stress on church reserves. Please consider staying current with you pledge to assure our financial stability. Feel free to direct questions to church treasurer, Bill Humphries.
SIGN UP FOR YOUTH DINNERS!
One of the best parts of our weekly youth group meeting is having the chance to share a meal together. And that’s where you come in! Please sign up to bring a meal for our youth. It doesn’t need to be gourmet or even homemade — our kids aren’t picky! Also, please feel free to sign up with a buddy to tag team a meal. You can sign up here. If you have any questions, please contact Emma.
PEP RALLY - SUNDAY FUNDAY @ MORNINGSIDE
All children, youth and adults are invited to join our Sunday FUNday Pep Rally on Sunday, September 9 at 9:45am in the Fellowship Hall! We’ll kick-off a new year of Sunday School, introduce our wonderful Sunday School teachers and then head to the classrooms for a brief lesson. Parents are invited to stay in the Fellowship Hall to learn more about our Family Faith Formation Sunday School class. Children (and adults!) are invited to wear their school colors, favorite team jerseys or cheer uniforms. Breakfast will be served. Click here for more information.
