For Youth

Our youth, currently all in middle school, meet on Sunday mornings in the Youth Loft (across from the balcony) for prayer and fellowship before worship, during which they sit together in reserved pews at the left of the balcony. The youth group meets most Sunday evenings from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. under the guidance of Youth Director Chris Peters. Calendars with scheduled activities for our youth are emailed to the group (you can click here for a copy of the latest youth calendar), and watch this site, our monthly Morningside Messenger newsletter and the weekly Life@Morningside bulletin insert for more information about upcoming events and dates.

If you have any questions about our learning opportunities for youth — or if you'd would like to volunteer — contact Chris.  In addition, please consider providing a Sunday dinner for our youth and their advisors.  Contact Tish Woolley if you'd care to help feed our hungry teens.

In 2012, our youth enjoyed a "college experience" with 600 of their peers from all over the country for spiritual nurture, service and just plain fun at the Montreat Middle School Conference, held on the campus of Presbyterian College in Clinton, SC.

Extra funding for our youth program is supported by our BOBO (Buy One/Boost One) spring silent auction and sales of $10 "stock certificates" sponsoring our mission/retreat participants, for which stockholders get a special invitation to a hotdog lunch and report back from the youth about their experiences.
