Atlanta Community Food Bank

Founded in 1979, the Atlanta Community Food Bank provides food and other donated products to more than 750 nonprofit partner agencies serving 38 counties across North Georgia centered on the Metro Atlanta area. Distributing these donations to low-income Georgians, partner agencies provide dynamic links between the local community, the Food Bank and our supporters.

Morningside’s participation:

Morningside fills several large canisters each holiday season (mid-November to mid-December) with non-perishable food items.  The Youth of MPC have chosen ACFB to be the recipient of the Souper Bowl Offering each February.  This national effort invites congregants to make a $2 donation towards fighting hunger on the day of the big game!

How you can get involved:

Help us fill the large canisters during the holiday collection season.  Watch for a list of requested items.  Give generously towards the annual Souper Bowl Offering.

Whom to contact:

If you have any questions about Morningside's work with the Food Bank, please contact shepherd Tim Gargis.
