Calvin Court

Calvin Court is a Presbyterian Home for senior citizens located on East Paces Ferry Road here in Atlanta.  Presbyterian Homes throughout Georgia offer caring communities for seniors.

Morningside’s participation:

Each May on Mothers' Day we kick off our canned food collection to restock the emergency food pantry at Calvin Court.  This supply of staple items is an important resource for seniors who find they are running out of money at the end of the month.

How you can get involved:

We need people to donate recommended items through the end of May:

  • Applesauce (Snack sized containers are great.)

  • Canned asparagus, cream corn, potatoes, spinach, black-eye peas

  • Canned ham

  • Canned chicken

  • Packs of crackers, chips, popcorn, saltines, nuts

  • Cereal or granola bars

  • Small bottles of water

  • Small canned drinks such as ginger ale or Gatorade (we use these a lot when residents get sick)

  • Cereal

  • Oatmeal (plain and flavored)

  • Toilet tissue

  • Facial tissue

  • Toiletries such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, razors, lotion, shampoo

  • Paper towels
