Habitat for Humanity
Atlanta Habitat for Humanity partners with working families, sponsors and communities to build affordable, green, quality homes and to provide support services that promote successful home purchase and ownership.
Morningside’s participation:
Each spring, Morningside partners with Haygood Methodist, Sacred Heart Catholic, First Presbyterian and Northwest Presbyterian to build a home. In addition, we received the honor of being asked to participate in the build for the 1000th Atlanta Habitat home in November 2008. We also participate in an Interfaith Build each fall. Check our bulletin board, the weekly Life@Morningside bulletin insert and the monthly Morningside Messenger newsletter for dates of our next build.
How you can get involved:
Sign up to work one or more Saturdays for our spring build. Sign up one Saturday in the spring to help provide lunch for 50 deserving volunteers. In the fall, the Interfaith Build is on Sundays. Watch for the dates that we will be participating and sign up to help build a home with peoples from many different faiths.
