Intown Collaborative Ministries

The vision of Intown Collaborative Ministries (ICM) is to transform the neighborhood we serve, to feed the hungry and house the homeless. A healthy neighborhood is one where residents, businesses, faith communities, and non-profits, come together to serve each other for the benefit of all.

To that end, ICM's Mission is to serve as a good neighbor to all with whom we share the Intown community, especially those experiencing poverty, hunger, and homelessness.  Visit their website to learn about ICM's programs, including The Food Pantry, Heading Home and several Food Co-Ops recently established in our area.

Morningside’s participation:

MPC supports ICM in several ways, including food donations, work days at the food pantry and particiaption in one of two current Food Co-Ops.

Food Pantry: The Food Pantry operates out of the fellowship hall of Druid Hills United Methodist Church (1200 Ponce de Leon Ave NE, Atlanta 30306).  The pantry gratefully accepts food donations which may be dropped off at the Druid Hills church office Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The pantry operates every Saturday, year round, serving its guests from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 pm.  We at MPC devote time and food donations to this worthy cause throughout the year.  Stocking the pantry and filling bags with nutritious food items on Saturdays provides a meaningful opportunity to serve those of our neighbors in need.

Food Co-Op: Currently, two Food Co-Ops operate through the oversight of ICM.  MPC supports Briarcliff Summit (1050 Ponce de leon Ave., Atlanta 30306), which operates in the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month from 10:00 a.m. until noon. Our work at the Co-Op includes assisting the residents of Briarcliff Summit with receipt and distribution of food delivered from Atlanta Community Food Bank.  Each resident pays a nominal monthly fee and in exchange, volunteers in the food cooperative effort.

How you can get involved:
