* THE CALL TO WORSHIP Chris Henry
Leader: Where can I go from your spirit? Or where can I flee from your
presence?
People: If I ascend to heaven, you are there;
Leader: If I take the wings of the morning and settle at the farthest limits of
the sea,
People: Even there your hand shall lead me, and your right hand
shall hold me fast.
All: Thanks be to God.
* THE PROCESSIONAL HYMN 478 Praise, My Soul, the King of Heaven
THE CALL TO CONFESSION
THE PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Holy and merciful God, in your presence we confess our sinfulness, our
shortcomings, and our offenses against you. You alone know how often we
have sinned in wandering from your ways, in wasting your gifts, in forgetting
your love.
Have mercy on us, O God of great compassion, for we are ashamed and sorry
for all we have done to displease you. Forgive our sins, and help us to live in
your light, and walk in your ways, for the sake of Jesus Christ our Savior.
Amen.
A MOMENT OF SILENCE (for examination of conscience and personal prayers of confession)
THE ASSURANCE OF PARDON
* THE CONGREGATIONAL RESPONSE (Hymn 579)
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; As it was in
the Beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
* THE PEACE OF CHRIST
