* THE PROCESSIONAL HYMN 487 When Morning Gilds the Skies

THE CALL TO CONFESSION

THE PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Gracious Redeemer, your touch has healed our wounds, your peace has
quieted our strife, and your grace has cleansed our hearts. Yet our hope in
you has faltered. We have turned away from you and heeded other voices. In
your mercy, forgive us for forsaking you. By your Spirit, quicken our faith,
and renew us in steadfast hope, that we might look to you with confident
reliance, and listen to you with certain assurance that your Word,
made incarnate in our Lord Jesus, is never empty or powerless. Amen.

A MOMENT OF SILENCE (for examination of conscience and personal prayers of confession)

THE ASSURANCE OF PARDON

* THE CONGREGATIONAL RESPONSE (Hymn 417)
Laud and honor to the Father, laud and honor to the Son, laud and
honor to the Spirit, ever three and ever one; One in might and one in
glory while unending ages run.

* THE PEACE OF CHRIST
(Children ages 2-11 are invited to leave after the Passing of the Peace for special classes. Preschoolers are
in Room G-11 and K-5th grade are in Room G-1.)

THE CONCERNS OF THE CHURCH
(Visitors and members are invited to sign the blue friendship register pad and pass it down the pew.)

THE FIRST LESSON Micah 6:6-8 (page 816 in the Pew Bible)

THE ANTHEM To God Be Joyful Mozart
To God be joyful, all hearts now be joyful! Alleluia. Know the Lord, that He is God. He
hath made us and we are His. We are His flock, He the shepherd. O enter forth with
thanksgiving, come with singing. Indeed, how good is the Lord. Alleluia.

THE SECOND LESSON Romans 12:1-2, 9-21 (page 151 in the Pew Bible)

THE SERMON "The Good Life" Christopher Henry
Rejoice in hope, be patient in suffering, persevere in prayer. Romans 12:12

* THE HYMN 405 What Does the Lord Require?

* THE APOSTLES' CREED
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth,
And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the
Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was
crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose
again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right
hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the
quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion
of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life
everlasting. Amen.

THE PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE AND THE LORD'S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom
come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our
daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead
us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom
and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.
