among all nations.
Leader: Let the peoples praise you, O God; let all the peoples praise you.

THE CALL TO CONFESSION
THE PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Eternal God, in whom we live and move and have our being, your face is
hidden from us by our sins, and we forget your mercy in the blindness of
our hearts. Cleanse us from all our offenses, and deliver us from proud
thoughts and vain desires.
With lowliness and meekness may we draw near to you, confessing our
faults, confiding in your grace, and finding in you our refuge and
strength; through Jesus Christ your Son. Amen.
A MOMENT OF SILENCE (for examination of conscience and personal prayers of confession)
THE ASSURANCE OF PARDON
* THE CONGREGATIONAL RESPONSE (Hymn 280)
The Lord has promised good to me, his word my hope secures;
He will my shield and portion be as long as life endures.

THE ANTHEM Now God Be Praised in Heaven Above Vulpius
Now God be praised in heaven above, praised be He for His great love. Wherein all
creatures live and move. Hallelujah! Praise Him yet more for conquering faith, which
feareth neither pain nor death. But, trusting God, rejoicing saith - Hallelujah! His grace
defends us from all ill; His Christ shall be our leader still till heaven and earth shall do His
will. Hallelujah!
THE NEW TESTAMENT LESSON Matthew 18:21-35 (page 19 in the Pew Bible)
THE SERMON "On Not Keeping Score" Joanna Adams
Then Peter came and said to him, "Lord, if another member of the church sins against me,
how often should I forgive? As many as seven times?" Matthew 18:21
* THE HYMN 335 Though I May Speak
* THE APOSTLES' CREED
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth,
And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the
Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was
crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose
again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right
hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the
quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion
of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life
everlasting. Amen.
THE PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE AND THE LORD'S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom
come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our

us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom
and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.
