Ushers, Pew Guild and Greeters
Our cadre of ushers, pew volunteers and greeters do so much to make both members and visitors to Morningside feel welcome and recognized.  Now, it's time for us to return the gesture to these goodwill ambassadors.  If you serve Morningside as a Sunday usher or a greeter, or as a member of the pew guild, you will not want to miss worship and a special commissioning event next Sunday, Sept. 14.

One Gray Hair Luncheon
You've found at least one gray hair?  Well, here's what it will do for you:  get you admitted to the next One Gray Hair Luncheon on Wed., Sept. 17 at noon in the Parlor, Room 107. Kindly RSVP to the church office by Mon., Sept. 15.

Cub Scouts
ATTENTION all school aged boys (grades 1 through 5) interested in camping, hiking, archery, the outdoors and just having fun. Cub Scouts has begun. Come join us at our next Pack Meeting on Friday, Sept 19 7 p.m. at Rock Spring Presbyterian Church. Contact Rhonda McIntosh rimcin@bellsouth.net or 404.876.2302 for more info. Girl siblings, yes girls, of the boys are also welcome.

New Member Sunday
Our next New Member Sunday is Sept. 28. If you have been thinking about joining Morningside, plan on coming to the Inquirers Class at 9:45 a.m. in the Session Room 103. The Session will meet immediately afterward to receive new members. Please be in touch with Joanna Adams at joannamadams@bellsouth.net or 404.876.7396 x11 to let her know of your interest.

Big Fun Day
All elementary age children are welcome to our first Big Fun Day of the school year, Saturday, Sept. 20, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Ms. Cathy returns to lead our drama and fun with “Bathing Suits, Bubbles and Baptism - Learning about Your Faith in a Big Way!” We will also do an outreach project, enjoy pizza and play together. News from A Time of Promise
Take a guess at what used to be in the space you see in this photo. The answer is below. Meanwhile, inside plumbing work continues and structural steel work is now complete. Our new concrete patio was poured last week. This week, the north parking lot repaving work resumes.  Did you check out the picture?  We once did a lot of checking out in THE LIBRARY!

Joanna's Aug. 24 Sermon
So many of you have asked for a copy of "On Not Keeping Score", the sermon Joanna preached on Aug. 24 that we ran out of our supply in the kiosk on Sunday. Rest assured, they will be restocked on Sunday. And you can always go to http://www.morningsidepc.org/worship/sermon_archive.html to read and listen to Morningside sermons.

Sympathy
Sympathy to the family of Caroline and Jim Caudill on the death of Caroline's father last week in Greensboro, NC.

Did You Know…
There were 30 children at last week’s Children’s Choir Kick-off. On Sunday, there were 46 children in worship and childcare. Last year’s count at Choir Kick-off was 20.
