Follow the Follicles
The next One Gray Hair Luncheon is tomorrow, Sept. 17 at noon in the Parlor, Room 107.

Big Fun Day Set
All elementary age children are welcome to our first Big Fun Day of the school year, this Saturday, Sept. 20, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Ms. Cathy returns to lead our drama and fun with “Bathing Suits, Bubbles and Baptism - Learning about Your Faith in a Big Fun Way!” We will also do an outreach project, enjoy pizza and play together. RSVP to Melinda Sandkam msandkam@morningsidepc.org today if your child can join in!

Sunday Forums
Come to the Parlor, Room 107, this Sunday, Sept. 21 for our first in a series of Sunday Forums: Reflections on the Issues of the Day. We will gather for discussion on an up-to-the-minute topic after worship, finishing by 1:00 p.m. Joanna Adams and Chris Henry will lead a discussion of “Patriotism for Christians”. As the 2008 election approaches, how is our Christian faith related to our responsibilities as Americans? What influence does faith have on political involvement in a free democracy?

Wine and Design
Meet your fellow Morningsiders at the Wine and Design fundraiser on September 27. Funds raised will furnish the new and refurbished spaces from the Time of Promise Campaign expansion. Festivities begin at 7:00 pm on the 23rd floor of the 2575 Peachtree Road Building (Unit 23C). Suggested donation is $50 per person with checks made out to Morningside Presbyterian Church with Wine and Design noted. All food, flowers, beverages, and invitations are being donated by Morningside members, so every dollar received goes straight to the Furnishings Fund. As a matter of fact, many members are preparing their recipes from the "Morningside Cooks!" cookbook, so you know there will be great eats!

New Member Sunday
Our next New Member Sunday is September 28. If you have been thinking about joining Morningside, plan on coming early for Coffee & Conversation on the front lawn, and then to the Inquirers Class at 9:45 a.m. in Room 103. Our Session will meet immediately afterward to receive new members. Please be in touch with Joanna Adams at joannamadams@bellsouth.net or 404.876.7396 ext. 11 to let her know of your interest.

Say Hello Plus
As we continue to welcome many visitors to worship at Morningside each Sunday, here's one easy way you can help! Simply be sure to sign the friendship pads located in the pews and include your contact information. This encourages first-time visitors to follow your good lead, which allows us to welcome them more fully with a note or e-mail later in the week. Thanks!

Re-Focus Yourself
Feeling stressed?  Need a proven way to relax, gain balance and become more energized? Come learn the ancient Chinese art of Tai Chi. Bob Wells and Doris Williams will teach an eight-week beginning class at Morningside starting on September 30 in Fellowship Hall, Tuesdays, 6:30 – 7:30 pm. Cost is $100, with 1/2 going to the church. Contact the office@morningsidepc.org or call 404.876.7396, ext 10, to sign up.

Did You Know…?
Photos of two of our members graced the pages of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution last week?  One news camera caught Van Crisco sampling the fare at new Little 5 Points gastropub, The Porter. Another captured Lloyd Prince at a lawn party celebrating the publication of a neighbor's cookbook.
