Happy Birthday, Morningside! 
Morningside’s 83rd Birthday Luncheon, with featured speaker The Reverend Dr. Douglas W. Oldenburg, is this Sunday, Nov. 2, after worship. Dr. Oldenburg is former Moderator of the General Assembly and President of Columbia Theological Seminary, and will focus on the theme of "Giving as Celebration" as part of Morningside's Stewardship Season. Please RSVP for this exciting event to Sherrill Terry.

Set your clocks back one hour before bed Saturday night as Daylight Saving Time ends early Sunday, November 2.
New Member Sunday
Our next New Member Sunday is Nov. 9. If you have been thinking about joining Morningside, plan on coming to the Inquirers’ Class at 9:45 a.m. in the Session Room 103. The Session will meet immediately afterward to receive new members. Please be in touch with Joanna Adams at joannamadams@bellsouth.net or 404.876.7396 x11 to let her know of your interest.
Helping Habitat
Morningside Presbyterian will help provide volunteers to Habitat for Humanity for its 1000th House during "Interfaith Build Day" with several other churches on Sunday, Nov 16. Groundbreaking Ceremony will be Friday, November 7. President and Mrs. Carter are expected at the site for a program November 12. Contact Lynsley Tyler for more information on the build.
Time of Promise Update 
Need a lift? Our elevator shaft, shown above on the second floor, is complete and ready for installation of the car. Seating wall block has now been installed on the patio entrance. The interior framing and ceiling grid will be finished this week. Drywall, wiring and plumbing are nearing completion. Thanks so much for your support.

Did You Know...?
Even in rocky financial times, Morningside Presbyterian Preschool grossed $9,265 during its recent Funderball fundraiser. With some checks still coming in, this is only $300 below last year's Funderball total. Eight pieces of original art from the children brought in $655 in a silent auction. Thanks to organizers Dawn Bell, Kim Nuckols, Emma Nendza, Carol Daniel and Vicky Silcock.
