Welcome New Member
Say hello to William Grigley, the newest Morningsider. His family has been on the roll at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta since 1892! William will be joining Morningside’s Chancel Choir.
Correction to Stewardship Annual Campaign Announcement
Thus far 177 pledges have been received totaling just over our goal at $628,261. This compares with 129 pledges totaling $470,960 last year. Praise God! We have been able to assure Chris Henry that he will be our full-time Associate Pastor next year. We will be able to maintain and grow our ministry and mission in 2009. We will meet our debt service requirements for the final components of Time of Promise. There are several pledges we still hope to receive. If you've delayed sending yours, please do so as we'd like to wrap things up ASAP. - Bill Humphries, Stewardship Chair
Time of Promise Update
Final finish work is on schedule. The elevator has gotten final inspection approval and is operating. The entrance patio is complete. Doors and hardware are installed. Interior flooring is done.
Movers and Shakers
Moving days are almost here, and we need your help in moving, cleaning and organizing our new office space. We need eager volunteers who can join us this Thursday, December 18 from 9a.m. to 12p.m, and/or Friday, December 19 from 3p.m. - 5p.m. Contact our seminary intern Kevin Weber at 404.831.0451 if you can help. Professional movers have been hired to transport large items and furniture. Your job would include packing and moving light items and putting the finishing touches on this new space! It promises to be a very joyful and exciting celebration!
Renovation Celebration This Sunday
After all the Time of Promise commitments by members of Morningside, all the planning, demolition, hammering, refinishing, paving, welding, masonry, painting, moving...and waiting, it's time to cut the ribbon! We will gather right after worship this Sunday, December 21, to celebrate our newly renovated south wing. Walk the new plaza and use the new entrance to the Welcome Center. Take a ride on the new elevator which stops at 3 floors with 3 different doors.
Christmas Pageant and Carol Sing
Join us Sunday, December 21, 5:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall for our annual Christmas pageant. More than 50 assorted shepherds, angels and, of course, the Holy Family fill our largest cast of children ever for this event. And after a light supper, we'll all join voices in our favorite songs of the season led by Walter Huff. Contact Mimi Bittick if you can bring a pot of chili.
Two Hours on Christmas Day
Please consider donating a two-hour shift on Christmas Day at Shearith Israel Women’s Shelter. If you can, contact Jeanne McCarthy.
Undecking Crew Opportunity
Please help us undecorate our sanctuary on Sunday, Dec. 28 after worship. Undecking is faster, requires somewhat less talent than decorating, and you can still serve in this important aspect of Life at Morningside. Please contact Georgia Marshall gkmarshall@gmail.com or 404.909.3477.
Giving Daisy a Break
