By Sherrill Terry
Morningside Presbyterian Church, Atlanta
Worship for Sunday, December 28, 2008; New Year Poem, Greetings from the Staff

Worship for Epiphany Sunday, January 4, 2009
Sermon: “Star Power”
Preaching – Joanna Adams
Text: Isaiah 60:1-6; Matthew 2:1-12
Key Verse: When they saw that the star had stopped, they were overwhelmed with joy. Matthew 2:10
Installation / Ordination of Officers
Beginning the Work of Christmas
When the song of the angels is stilled
When the star in the sky is gone
When the kings and princes are home
When the shepherds are back with their flocks
The work of Christmas begins:
To find the lost,
To heal the broken,
To feed the hungry,
To release the prisoners,
To rebuild the nations,
To bring peace among brothers,
To make music in the heart.
- From an old Quaker calendar

Best wishes for a Happy New Year from the Morningside Presbyterian staff (not pictured: Walter Huff and Melinda Sandkam; special guest: David York). The office will be closed Jan. 1, 2009.
