Sunday Forum on Obama Presidency
Please join us this Sunday. Jan. 18 for the next in a series of Sunday Forums: Reflections on the Issues of the Day. We will gather at 12:15 p.m. in Room 201 for a discussion led by Al Adams on the topic "The Presidency in Perspective." Is Barack Obama something new under the sun or is this just the latest page in presidential history? What will we think in a year or two? The answers turn on the man but also the office. Let's think together about these things in perspective.
New Member Sunday, January 18
If you have been thinking about joining Morningside this Sunday is New Member Sunday. Plan on coming to the Inquirers’ Class at 9:45 a.m. in the Session Room 103. Morningside’s 2008 annual report will be distributed at the meeting. We’ll be covering a lot of information important in the life of our church. Please plan to attend.
Presbyterian Rally Day at the Capitol
Why are Presbyterians called to public advocacy, and how can you be an effective advocate? Come hear our very own Rev. Chris Henry address the topic at Presbyterian Rally Day on Thursday, February 12 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The day will include workshops on advocacy issues, hymn-sing at the Capitol, and meetings with state legislators. Registration forms are available on the table in the Narthex or at the Presbytery link below. Deadline for registration is January 29. http://www.presbyteryofgreateratl.org/events/PRESBYTERIAN%20RALLY%20DAY%202009.pdf Please contact Sarah Beth Gehl with any questions.
