HONORING SEMINARY GRADUATES
All are invited to a special fellowship hour today to honor Rebekah Diehl, Nancy Meehan Yao and Kevin Weber who will all be graduating from Columbia Theological Seminary this spring and leaving Morningside in the next few weeks. Join us as we thank each of them for the work they have done here at MPC! Reception will be in Fellowship Hall immediately following worship.

MORNINGSIDE IN CONVERSATION WITH OTHER FAITHS
We live in a city of stunning religious diversity, where many of our neighbors and friends belong to different faith traditions from our own. This diversity gives us all the opportunity for dialogue, education, and deeper religious commitment. This Spring, we are pleased to welcome to Morningside three distinguished speakers from other religious faiths for a series of Sunday Forums. Each speaker will address, from his/her own perspective, the central issues facing the religious community here and now. Next Sunday, April 26, our second speaker in the series will be Rabbi Ronald M. Segal, Senior Rabbi at Temple Sinai in North Atlanta, one of the largest Jewish congregations in the Southeast. In addition to his service at Temple Sinai, Rabbi Segal is active in the greater Atlanta Jewish and interfaith communities, including service alongside Joanna Adams as part of a Jewish/Presbyterian dialogue group for Atlanta rabbis and ministers. The forum will take place in Room 201 from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. Make plans to be a part of this timely series at Morningside, as we learn from the rich religious perspectives that surround us.

DRIVING MISS DAISY
Join your Morningside friends on Saturday, April 25 at 7:30 p.m. to see the opening night production of Driving Miss Daisy with the Theatrical Outfit at the Balzer Theatre in Atlanta.  Deeply discounted tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis.  A reception with the cast will follow.  To reserve your seat, contact Betsy Holland at Betsy.Holland@Turner.com.

INTOWN COMMUNITY ASSISTANCE
Please contribute food items to Intown Community Assistance for collection through April 26.  Items needed are canned meat, milk, and vegetables-especially pop top cans. Peanut butter and jelly are also needed.  Contact Nancy Collins at 770.842.3959 with any questions.

NEW MEMBER SUNDAY

The Session will meet following the class to receive new members. To join the class or for more information, contact Joanna Adams at 404.876.7396 x11 or joannamadams@bellsouth.net.

WOMEN'S ROUNDTABLE

YOUNG ADULT TRIVIA NIGHT
"Youngish" adults and the young-at-heart are invited to join us for trivia on Thursday, April 30, at 8 p.m. at Tin Roof Cantina (2591 Briarcliff Road). Get to know other young adults and put your random knowledge to good use! Email Lisa Harris at Lisa.S.Harris@gmail.com if you're planning to attend or if you would like to be added to our email list.

HABITAT BUILD UNDERWAY
The build continues on MPC's 2009 Habitat for Humanity house.  MPC is partnering with four other area churches to make affordable homeownership a reality for an Atlanta family.  Please consider participating with our remaining builds---Saturdays through May 16.  Volunteers are particularly needed next Saturday, April 25. Signups are on the Habitat board in the Narthex or by contacting Lynsley Tyler (Lynsley@bellsouth.net or 404.724.0606).

MORNINGSIDE RECEIVES GRANT
Morningside has received a matching grant from Georgia Interfaith Power and Light. The grant will enable us to make improvements to our church property to reduce our utility bills and carbon footprint. We can raise money to match the grant through an innovative program. The Georgia Power Credit Program helps control the power used by your home's air conditioner and supports the church while reducing your bill if you sign up through MPC. Morningside's share will go toward the $2775 we need to meet the match. To learn how the credit program works, visit the EAC table during Fellowship Hour the next several Sundays, or contact the EAC chair, Sarah Tomaka at 404.874.3770 or sarah.tomaka@gmail.com.

WOMEN'S SHELTER CELEBRATES
Join Shearith Israel at the Synagogue (1180 University Dr.) on Sunday, May 3, 2 p.m. in a 25th Anniversary Celebration of the Women's Shelter.  All volunteers and Morningside members are encouraged to stop by to commemorate the anniversary.  Our own Reverend Joanna Adams will be the keynote speaker.

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION AT MORNINGSIDE
The Bible Class - Earth Day Celebration

Next Sunday, in celebration of Earth Day, the Morningside Bible Class will be led by members of the Environmental Action Committee along with Rev. Alan Jenkins, who is Director of Earth Covenant Ministry, a validated ministry of the Presbytery of Greater Atlanta that seeks to integrate the call to care for God's creation into the teaching and ministry of churches. Morningside is a member congregation of Earth Covenant Ministry and we are pleased to welcome Rev. Jenkins as our guest teacher next week. He will moderate a discussion of what we've accomplished and where we can go in our efforts to use earth-friendly and wise practices at Morningside. The Bible Class meets each Sunday in Room 201 at 9:45am.
