We will conclude our five-week series exploring scriptural themes related to the economy.

Surviving The Economic Crisis: A Weekly Discussion Group
This confidential discussion group focusing on career and financial concerns brought about by the economic downturn continues to meet each Thursday evening at 7:00pm in the pastor's office (though neither Joanna nor Chris attend). The group is led by Browning Fergus, a Morningside member, family therapist, and President-elect of the Georgia Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. The purpose is to provide a space for open conversation and mutual support during these difficult financial times. Members, friends, and neighbors are all invited to attend the group discussions. On Sunday, May 24, we welcome as our guest liturgist the Reverend Sara A. Hayden, who is married to Chris Henry. Sara is a Chaplain at the Emory Center for Pastoral Services at Wesley Woods Hospital and also serves as a minister member of Oakhurst Presbyterian Church.
Picnic in the Park
Isn't it time you spent a lazy Sunday afternoon in Piedmont Park? Join the Morningside Young Adults for a potluck picnic in Piedmont Park this afternoon starting at 2 p.m. Bring your beverage of choice, a blanket or chair, and some picnic food to share. Plates, utensils, and paper products will be provided. All are welcome to a special Pentecost luncheon after worship on Sunday, May 31 in Fellowship Hall. RSVP using the pew cards or contact the church office. Donations will be accepted.

If you have been thinking about joining Morningside on our next New Member Sunday, June 7, plan on coming to the Inquirers' Class at 9:45 a.m. in the Session Room. ..."School's Out" for the year this Friday, but Summer Camp is just around the corner. If you happen to visit MPP on a weekday this summer, you will hear the happy sounds of children Exploring Water, Art from the Masters, Outdoor Nature, and a variety of other themes that are just right for summer learning. For information about camp dates and curriculum, visit the preschool link on the church web page: www.morningsidepc.org. There are a few spaces still available for campers.
Habitat for Humanity
…Last Saturday, May 16 MPC completed our 6th Habitat for Humanity house in the past 5 years. Joanna Adams provided the opening prayer for the dedication ceremony at the home of Ashley Barron and her four year old son, Nehemiah. MPC works with four other area churches every spring to make affordable homeownership a reality for a deserving family.
...Bob and Rosemary Wells just welcomed their third grandchild, a baby boy, a couple of weeks ago. Bob's mother, Ruth Wells, recently celebrated her 98th birthday
