A Thought for the Week
Our relationship to God, our salvation, is something that God in Christ does for us, not something that we think, or feel, or understand by ourselves. The Trinity reaches out to us, not because we are good at being godly, but because it is the nature of this God to save sinners. We are among the gifted - those who have been given something by God that we could never, by our own efforts or merits, have by ourselves. We are saved by grace.
June 7, 2009, Trinity Sunday

9:45 a.m. Church School
We begin a four-week study of the Epistle to the Hebrews.

The Sacrament of Communion will be celebrated.

Theology on Tap Tonight
Men of Morningside, Theology on Tap is tonight at 7 p.m. at the home of Lloyd Prince (91 Lakeview Drive NE, 30317). Topic: "Prosperity Theology." The food will be good and the discussion will be lively. See you there!
Youth Concert this Thursday
Morningside is opening its sanctuary to the Shallowford Presbyterian Youth choir for a dress rehearsal concert to kickoff their summer tour. All are welcome to this free event at 7 p.m. on the 4th.
Does your heart yearn to join in the music ministry at Morningside, but you worry your vocal cords might let you down? If so, your answer could be in Morningside's first ever handbell choir. A few positions are still open and we'd love to have you join us! Handbells are easy to play, and a team effort is required to make the music come alive. Rehearsals are Thursdays at 7PM and performances at various times throughout the year. If you're interested, please contact James Klotz at 404-934-0124 or james.klotz@flyasa.com.
Our newest refugee dad from Afghanistan, Nazir Ashna, is in great need of services that are not available to him as a refugee. He needs physical therapy and basic dental work. If you know of anyone who might be willing to provide these services on a pro bono or minimal fee basis, it will be most sincerely appreciated. He is also seeking full time employment ideally using his skills in interpreting or security. He worked for our military as an interpreter and in high level security with President Karzai. Any leads will be welcomed. If you can help, please contact Holly Campbell at hollycampbell1@gmail.com or 404-233-0045. She can also send you a copy of his resume and answer any questions.
