This Saturday, July 18th, we will volunteer at the Atlanta Food Bank from 9 a.m. to noon, then head to lunch at George's Restaurant in Virginia Highlands.  To sign up for the Food Bank, please contact Anna Garcia at garcia.miguel@Comcast.net or Ashley Filip at ashleyfilip@gmail.com. On Saturday, July 25th, we will be grilling out for the guests at Clifton Sanctuary Ministries beginning at 5:45 p.m. If you want to help serve or can provide a side item or dessert, please contact Shannon Harris at shannonlharris@gmail.com.

COFFEE & CREAMERS COLLECTION
Throughout the month of July, we will be collecting ground, caffeinated coffee and coffee creamers for our mission at Common Ground.  Please support this wonderful mission that provides daily spiritual, emotional, and practical support to people living with HIV and AIDS.

CONGRATULATIONS TO:
- Helen and Ed Albright on Ed's retirement as Executive Presbyter of the Presbytery of Greater Atlanta. What a marvelous job Ed has done! While a search committee looks for the next Executive Presbyter, Bill Nesbit, Elder from the Roswell Church and himself recently retired as a Colonel in the US Army, will serve as the Transition Head of Staff. Let's keep all the staff members of the Presbytery in our prayers. Mardee Rightmyer, Elder at Morningside, serves as Director of the Resource Center.
- Will Frampton, son of Nancy and Mac Frampton, who was recently awarded the Southeastern Region Emmy for Best Documentary. His award-winning documentary focuses on Afghanistan.

KEEP IN YOUR PRAYERS:
- Angie Keller's mother, who has recently had heart surgery.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
The Presbytery of Greater Atlanta is looking for people who would like to serve as volunteer receptionists during each week day at the Presbytery of Greater Atlanta. Please let Anna Best know if you are interested, and she will put you in touch with the right person. CHRISTIAN EDUCATION AT MORNINGSIDE

The Bible Class
Great Prayers of the Old Testament

Next Sunday, July 19, Morningside's Bible Class will continue a study based on Professor Walter Brueggemann's book, Great Prayers of the Old Testament. Each week, we read and discuss two prayers contained in the Old Testament, followed by a conversation about how these words might inform and inspire our own prayer life and our faith. Next week, we will study the prayers of two very different Old Testament characters: Solomon and Jonah. Come to learn from and be inspired by these moving prayers from our faith ancestors! The Morningside Bible Class meets each Sunday at 9:45am in Room 201 and is taught by Associate Pastor Chris Henry.
