CHRISTIAN EDUCATION AT MORNINGSIDE

The Bible Class
Reading Romans with Reformers

Next Sunday, August 23, Morningside's Bible Class continues its
series on Paul's Letter to the Romans. This fall, we are studying Romans
with one another and alongside the great commentaries of our
predecessors in the Reformed Tradition, especially John Calvin and
Karl Barth. We are considering the ways in which this ancient letter
ha spoken to the church through the centuries and continues to do
so in our time. Next week's reading, Romans 2:17- 4 :25, will take
us from the depths of human sinfulness to the heights of God's grace
and mercy. Whether you are a regular or have never attended the
class before, please plan to join fellow Morningsiders on this journey
through scripture. The Morningside Bible Class meets each Sunday
at 9:45 a.m. in Room 201 and is taught by Associate pastor Chris
Henry.

Children's Classes
This morning, the Preschool children learn that Jesus helps us when
we are in need. The scripture (Matthew 14: 22-33) tells about the
disciples' fear while waiting for Jesus in a boat that is battered by a
storm. Jesus helps them when he returns and the storm is calmed.
The Elementary class approaches the end of the summer Books of
the Bible study as they learn more about Revelation. The 4th-6th
graders will be attending worship.
