Elementary age classes learn about God's covenant with King David and that the covenant remains important today. (2 Samuel 7: 1-17)the Psalms areexpressions of feelings to God (Psalm 19).

Flooding Update...The link below is from Georgia Volunteer Organizations Active in Disaster (GA VOAD) - Citizen Action Team about Local Assistance Centers where people can volunteer to help and receive help. Their web site is: http://www.citizencommandcenter.org/conditions/list?preset=96.

MPC Fall Health Update...This past week, we have added hand sanitizer dispensers in the Narthex and Welcome Center to encourage good health practices during the flu season.

Tuesday, October 6... Men of Morningside will gather at 7 p.m. at the home of Todd McDonald (835 Rowland Street, Clarkston, 30021). The topic is "Faith and the Health Care Debate."

Wednesday, October 7... Women of Morningside will gather at 9:15 a.m. in Room 201 for Bible Study with Joanna Adams. This month's topic is "What is truth?" (John 18:38). Come early at 9 a.m. for coffee and pastries. Child care is provided.

Thursday, October 8... Lydia's Circle (for young moms and female professionals) will gather at 7 p.m. at the home of Dawn Bell (901 Virginia Avenue, 30306).

Friday, October 9... The couples group will gather at 7 p.m. at the home of Kathy and Alan Bremer (785 Cumberland Road, 30306). The evening will begin with socializing and refreshments, followed by dinner and a short presentation titled "Top 10 Ways to Guarantee a Successful Marriage." If you would like to attend, contact Kathy Bremer at kdbremer@bellsouth.net.

Sunday, October 11... is New Member Sunday. If you would like to join Morningside this Sunday, please contact Joanna Adams or Chris Henry to let them know of your interest.

All recent new members and those considering membership are welcome to a Lunch and Learn led by Joanna Adams and Chris Henry this Sunday following worship. Meet in Room 107 for lunch and to explore "What It Means to Be Presbyterian in the 21st Century."

Officer Nominating Committee... The committee will accept nominations for both Elders and Deacons through Sunday, October 18. Nomination forms can be given to the church office or placed in the offering plates or the white boxes in the Narthex and Welcome Center.

Transition Team... The team will accept nominations for the Pastor Nominating Committee through Sunday, October 18. If you wish to nominate someone, you may do so by filling out the yellow PNC nomination form and placing it in the yellow boxes in the Narthex and Welcome Center.

Needed for Upcoming Congregational Luncheon... Retro vases, small dishes, ladies gloves, dress hats, scarves, retro tablecloths, curtains, toys, tools, kitchen items to be used for MPC decorations. Contact Lynn Daniel for pickup (lgd1@bellsouth.net or 770.938.2451).

Did You Know... that Morningside is preparing to have MPC's very own Christmas card this year? The front of the card will feature a picture from last year's Christmas Eve service similar to the one that is framed and hanging in the new Welcome Center. More information will follow in the next two weeks.
