We will continue our annual Advent series, this year titled, "Advent Through the Eyes of Those Who Waited."
Children
On each Sunday in December, all of the children's classes hear the stories of Jesus' birth. Today, the preschool classes hear the story of the birth of Jesus (Luke 2:1-7) and the older children focus is on Joseph, a descendant of David, who became Jesus' earthly father. (Matthew 1:1-25)

Sunday, December 6...If you have been thinking about joining Morningside on our next New Member Sunday, December 6, plan on coming to the Inquirers' Class at 9:45 a.m. in the Session Room. The Session will meet immediately afterward to receive new members. Please be in touch with Joanna Adams (joannamadams@bellsouth.net or 404.876.7396 x 11) to let her know of your interest.
- Advent Season Devotionals are available in the Narthex, Welcome Center, or Fellowship Hall.
- Support Adopt-a-Grandparent by bringing in today a $10 CVS card for low income seniors for Christmas. For more information, contact Debbie Fox at debfox@deloitte.com.
- 2nd-6th Graders will go ice skating Sunday afternoon. If you are attending, please let Ms. Alicia and Tyler know. Chaperones are needed.
Advent Season...If you would like to help decorate Morningside in all its celebratory Christmas glory, please consider a tribute contribution in memory of or in honor of friends or family. Donations will be used for the Chrismon tree, poinsettias, wreaths, garlands, and candles. The suggested contribution is $10 per name. There will be a sign-up form in this week's bulletin.
Tuesday, December 1...Men of Morningside will gather at 7 p.m. tonight for Theology on Tap at the home of Ken Sharpe (1700 Timberland Road, 30345). Their special guest speaker Joanna Adams will lead a discussion on "How the Church has Changed."
Wednesday, December 2...We will gather in the Welcome Center at 9 a.m. for coffee and pastries and to honor Joanna Adams before her retirement. The women's Bible study with Joanna will follow in Room 201 at 10 a.m. Childcare is provided. Joanna's final topic will be "How can this be, since I am still a virgin?" The text is Luke 1:34.
Urgent Need...Volunteers are needed to serve dinner, stay the night, and spend some time with the women at Shearith Israel Shelter, December 3-6. For more information, contact Amy DeBaets (amy.debaets@gmail.com).
Did you know...
that Ms. Julie Ann, one of MPP's toddler teachers, completed a Half Ironman in 6 hours, 30 minutes and 8 seconds? Way to go Ms. Julie Ann.
