WORSHIP APRIL 18, 2010
THIRD SUNDAY OF EASTER

Our preparation for worship is as follows: Before the prelude begins, the liturgist for the morning will
greet the congregation from the lectern, saying "The Lord be with you." The people will respond, "And
also with you." At this point, the prelude will begin. After the prelude, the chimes will be sounded, and
the call to worship will take place, followed by the processional hymn. Our goal is to make the sanctuary
as worshipful as possible as the congregation gathers to honor God's holy name.

THE GATHERING Alicia Wilson

People: And also with you.

* THE CALL TO WORSHIP
Leader: Sing praise to the Lord, you faithful people!
Remember what God has done and give thanks!
People: Let the light of your face shine on us, O Lord!
You have put gladness in our heart.
Leader: You have changed our sadness into a joyful dance;
You have taken our mourning clothes and given
us garments of joy.
People: We will not be silent but sing praises to you, O God.
Forever, we will give thanks to you, O Lord our God.
Leader: With joy and gratitude, let us worship God!

THE CALL TO CONFESSION

THE PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Gracious and holy God, you call us to repentance through the life, death and resurrection
of Jesus Christ. Forgive us if we get too busy to listen or to see Jesus and
know who he is. Forgive us if we move from Easter and forget the gift of grace you
have given us. Forgive us when we do not respond to your call to share with others.
Turn our hearts and minds to service in your name. Clothe us with joy, we
pray. Amen.

dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from
the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the
Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of
saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting.
