TOM EVANS PREACHING NEXT SUNDAY
Next Sunday we will welcome as our distinguished guest preacher the Reverend Dr. Thomas Evans, Executive Presbyter of the Presbytery of Greater Atlanta. Tom came to Atlanta from Birmingham, Alabama, where he served as Executive Presbyter of the Presbytery of Sheppards and Lapsley. Prior to that, he served churches in Idaho Falls, Idaho; Magnolia, Arkansas; and Buffalo, New York. Tom is a gifted preacher and leader, and we are fortunate to welcome him as our preacher on Pentecost Sunday!
CONGREGATIONAL LUNCH
Be sure to RSVP for lunch in Fellowship Hall on Pentecost Sunday, May 23 after worship. Don’t miss an opportunity to meet our new Executive Presbyter Tom Evans while enjoying a delicious meal. Suggested donation is $10 adults, $5 children. Place your RSVP in the offering plate today or contact the church office this week. Volunteers are needed. If you can help, please contact Brad Odom at jbradleyodom@gmail.com.

Our annual collection of goods for the Presbyterian Senior Community of Calvin Court continues through May. Requested items are canned vegetables and meats, toiletries and paper products. Please see specific lists on our website or on the donation baskets display in the Welcome Center.
MISSION COOKBOOKS
Support the outreach work of MPC with the purchase of a MPC cookbook for $10. The children have bought dishtowel “wrappings” with their offering and will sell them before and after worship through next Sunday. They make a great gift for Father’s Day, a new home or a hostess gift.

MENTAL HEALTH MONTH
Last year, we were honored to have Rosalyn Carter here for the Regional Council of Churches meeting. The focus that day was awareness and assistance for those facing mental illness. This brain disorder that affects one in four families requires professional treatment, education and support to achieve recovery. The National Alliance on Mental Illness is America's largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families affected by mental illness. NAMI Georgia is your local resource and can be reached at www.namiga.org. Keep those facing mental illness and their caregivers in your prayers and help to share awareness of this serious challenge.
