PICK-A-PAN SUNDAY

Take home an empty pan from the narthex today and return it by 10 a.m. this Tuesday, June 8 with the requested food to join us in providing lunch to 45 men attending the Common Ground program at Atlanta AIDS Faith & Health.

PRESBYTERY LISTENING SESSION

As the Presbytery of Greater Atlanta discerns and plans for its future mission, a number of listening sessions have been planned at churches around the Presbytery. Morningside will host a listening session tomorrow afternoon from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in Room 201. All are welcome to attend and add your voice to the strategic vision of the Presbytery of Greater Atlanta.

YOUNG ADULT COOKOUT

Bring your own beverage and meat (or veggies) to grill at Wendy Ralph's home, 1234 N. Highland Dr. NE, 30306 on Saturday, June 12, 6:30 p.m. Sides, condiments, desserts and eating utensils provided! Let Wendy know you can attend at wkr36@ameritech.net.

BISHOP WILLIAM WILLIMON AT MORNINGSIDE NEXT SUNDAY

Make plans to be in worship next Sunday when our guest preacher will be the Reverend Dr. William Willimon, United Methodist Bishop of the North Alabama Conference. Bishop Willimon was for twenty years Dean of the Chapel and Professor of Christianity Ministry at Duke University. He is author of sixty books and has been awarded honorary degrees from twelve colleges and universities. Willimon is a renowned preacher, teacher, author, and church leader who has preached and taught all over the world, and we look forward to welcoming him to Morningside. Following worship, Bishop Willimon will lead a Sunday Forum in the fellowship hall on the state of mainline Protestant churches in the 21st Century.

WELCOMING OUR NEIGHBORS

The Evangelism Ministry Team is seeking volunteers to participate in a new program aimed at reaching out to our visitors and regular attendees who are prospective members of MPC.  An organizational meeting is planned for Sunday afternoon, June 13 at 5:30 p.m..  Please contact Doug Self at doug@jdouglasliving.com if you are interested in hearing more about this outreach opportunity.

INFANT NURSERY VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

We are in need of additional volunteers for the church nursery that is open during the worship service. Volunteers typically work in the nursery one Sunday every two to three months along with two paid nursery workers. It is a lot of fun and we could really use your help! Please contact Heather Regnault at hpregnault@yahoo.com or 404-771-0716 if you are interested in volunteering or learning more.

SUMMER DISCUSSION GROUP ON SPIRITUALITY

Beginning Monday, June 14 at 7 p.m. at Morningside Presbyterian Church, Katie Davis will lead a small group on Christian Spirituality that will meet every other week this summer. The group will base its discussion on a book by Joan Chittister, a renowned leader on spiritual formation. Copies of the book will be available at the church. Call the church office (404.876.7396) to reserve a place.

There will be a lunch meeting after worship on Sunday, June 27 for those going to Haiti.

WELCOME BASKETS

Each man who moves out of Clifton Sanctuary Ministries into his own home is given a Welcome Basket filled with essential household items for his pantry.  Help us provide these housewarming gifts by providing requested items in the month of June.  See display in Welcome Center and the website for items needed and return them by the Fourth of July!
