In keeping with the Presbyterian tenet of the priesthood of all believers, Morningside maintains a Lay Liturgy Team. Our lay reader this morning is Daisy Ottmann.
PLAYGROUND PICNIC
All are invited to a potluck picnic today after worship. Fellowship Hour will still take place indoors.
HAITI MISSION TRIP
MPC has made plans to go to Haiti October 9-15 to work with St. Joseph’s Home for Boys. There will be a lunch meeting following worship today for those going to Haiti, and a commitment will be needed by July 1.
PASTOR ON CALL
From Friday, July 2 to Saturday, July 10 Chris Henry will be attending the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (USA) in Minneapolis. If a pastoral need arises during that time, Rev. NEXT SUNDAY-COME CASUAL
Next Sunday, we invite you to come casual to worship before starting your traditional July 4 celebration. We will not hold Christian Education classes during the 9:45 hour; however, classes for all ages will resume July 11. Childcare and Children’s Worship will be available during worship.
CLIFTON SANCTUARY MINISTRIES
We would like to provide a welcome basket for each man who moves from Clifton into their own home; so during the month of June we are collecting pantry items for those baskets. The website and the Welcome Center display list the requested items needed. Please return items by next Sunday, July 4.
PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH (U.S.A.): 219th GENERAL ASSEMBLY
From July 3 to 10, the 219th General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (USA) will be meeting in Minneapolis. During that week, commissioners and advisory delegates from all over the United States will prayerfully discern the will of God for our denomination and make decisions that will affect all our congregations. Chris Henry will serve as a commissioner to the General Assembly from the Presbytery of Greater Atlanta. You can follow the events of the Assembly at www.pcusa.org/ga219/. Let us all pray for the Presbyterian Church (USA) as we seek to demonstrate the love and justice of Jesus Christ to the world.
DAY 1
Chris Henry is the featured speaker on the July 11 "Day 1" broadcast, which airs locally on WSB 750 AM at 7:05a.m. The sermon, "Tell Me A Story," will also be available on the Day 1 podcast, which can be found at www.day1.org. The Day 1 radio program, formerly called the Protestant Hour, presents sermons by Protestant preachers from across America and is distributed to over 200 radio stations.

Mission Camp returns July 26-31 for completed 2nd-6th graders. Contact Melinda Sandkam for scholarship information. We need chaperones Monday through Thursday. Do you have one day to give to this great endeavor? And, we are seeking large tents to borrow for Friday night sleepover at Noah’s Ark Animal Rescue Center.
NASHVILLE MISSION TRIP
As Presbyterian Disaster Assistance begins its flood recovery work in Nashville, Morningside will send a team August 18-21. Contact Duncan Spears if you are interested in this mission trip to Tennessee.
NEEDED – MEALS ON WHEELS VOLUNTEERS
Contact Shepherd Sarah Brownlee at rsbrownlee1046@att.net regarding an opening on the third Wednesday of each month to deliver food for Meals on Wheels.
AROUND THE WORLD IN 5 DAYS
70 kids and many, many volunteers have made it back safe and sound (if a little tired) from their journey around the world. Many thanks to the multitude of volunteers that helped to make VBS such a wonderful learning experience as we explored different ways to share God’s love.

Mollie Reagan Moore, daughter of John and Georgia Moore, was baptized on Father’s Day, June 20.

THE BIBLE CLASS - A JOURNEY THROUGH THE WORD
Next Sunday, July 4, Morningside's Bible Class will take a break from its weekly journey through the New Testament. The class resumes on July 11th, when Chris Henry will lead a discussion on the Book of Revelation. The Morningside Bible Class meets at 9:45am in Room 201. All are welcome!
CHILDREN'S CLASSES
Preschool children will learn what happened when Elisha helped a poor widow use one small jar of oil to feed her sons. K-2 will study the books of the major and minor prophets. 3rd-6th grade will continue their summer study of worship with a look at the music components.
