PASTOR ON CALL
From Friday, July 2 to Saturday, July 10 Chris Henry will be attending the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (USA) in Minneapolis. If a pastoral need arises during that time, Rev. Mary Miller Brueggemann is pastor on call. You can reach Mary at 404.327.9159, mmbruegg9@gmail.com, or by calling the church office.
WELCOME ALICIA WILSON
We welcome Alicia Wilson as our guest preacher this morning. Alicia has been our worship leader for second and third graders this school year and over the summer is leading the Double-Digits group. She is originally from Salisbury, North Carolina and graduated from Furman University with majors in Religion and Greek. Alicia graduated from Columbia Theological Seminary in May with a Master of Divinity degree, and will begin a year of hospital chaplaincy with Emory Center for Pastoral Services in the fall. We are grateful to welcome Alicia to the pulpit at Morningside this morning!
THIS Sunday-come casual
This Sunday, July 4, we invite you to come casual to worship before starting your traditional July 4 celebration. We will not hold Christian Education classes during the 9:45 hour; however, classes for all ages will resume July 11. Childcare and Children's Worship will be available during worship. Check the web for the Peachtree Road Race route before leaving home.
Clifton Sanctuary Ministries
We would like to provide a welcome basket for each man who moves from Clifton into their own home, so during the month of June we are collecting pantry items for those baskets. Still needed are: 1 package of trash bags; 3 boxes of dryer sheets; 4 clocks; 8 dishtowels; and 4 boxes of Mac & Cheese. Please return items this Sunday.
Church Retreat to Montreat-November 19-21
Rev. Dr. Tom Evans, Executive Presbyter of Greater Atlanta, will be retreat leader. More information and registration forms are available in the narthex. Registration deposit is due July 18.
