THE CALL TO CONFESSION
THE PRAYER OF CONFESSION
O God, we celebrate the new life which you have given us. We have experienced
broken lives made whole, old wounds of alienation healed, and tired
spirits rejuvenated with new vision. Gracious God, we are grateful for the purpose
and possibilities you have placed before us. Yet there are times when
doubt overcomes hope, cynicism replaces dedication, and the world's values
capture us more than yours. Forgive us those times, we pray. Help us let go of
the past that we might move joyfully into a new future that points to your love
and justice. Amen.
A MOMENT OF SILENCE (for examination of conscience and personal prayers of confession)
THE ASSURANCE OF PARDON

To Thee, great One in Three, the highest praises be, hence evermore!
Thy sovereign majesty may we in glory see, and to eternity love and adore.

We believe God is holy and awesome, powerful and great, nice and peaceful.
The Creator helps us and protects us.
The Lord is the rock of our salvation!
We believe Jesus was born in a manger in Bethlehem on Christmas.
He healed people, taught people and fed people.
Jesus died on a cross. Jesus died for us.
Three days later he rose from the dead, and his tomb was empty.
We believe the Holy Spirit is with us always.
It lives inside of us and is there to help everybody.
We are Christians, servants of God.
We live in the way of God and praise the Lord! Amen.
THE PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE AND THE LORD'S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy
will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and
forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory,
forever. Amen.
THE OFFERTORY Gloria Tibi Domine Gilpin
