THE CALL TO CONFESSION
THE PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Ever-present God, we confess that our attention is fractured, even in this
place. Our calendars are full, and never far from our minds. We assume that
you desire this ceaseless activity. We expect to enlist you in our causes. Holy
God, we have forgotten to watch for you, to listen for your voice. We live
with blinders that we have fashioned with our own hands. Forgive us and
teach us a better way, that our choices might be born of your love, through
Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
A MOMENT OF SILENCE (for examination of conscience and personal prayers of confession)

* THE CONGREGATIONAL RESPONSE (Hymn 466)
My gracious Master and my God, assist me to proclaim, to spread through all
the earth abroad the honors of Thy name.

If thou but suffer God to guide thee, and hope in Him through all thy ways, He'll give thee
strength, whate'er betide thee, and bear thee through the evil days. Who trusts in God's unchanging
love builds on the rock that naught can move. Sing, pray, and keep His ways unswerving,
perform thy duties faithfully, and trust His Word; though undeserving, thou yet
shalt find it true for thee. God never yet forsook in need the soul that trusted Him indeed.
