Kick Off the School Year
All are welcome to a light breakfast and fun activities on the front lawn at 9:45 a.m. this Sunday, August 15 as we kick off the school year. Ms. Sue will share Bible stories, Jonah the Whale will make an appearance and much more. We will then start our Sunday school year by dedicating the students, teachers and volunteers during worship. All children are invited to "move up" to their new classes starting on this date. Contact Program Director Melinda Sandkam with any questions.
FALL SERMON SERIES
This Sunday, Chris Henry will begin a five-week sermon Series on Burning Questions for 21st Century Christians. Each week's sermon will consider one of the most pressing questions that Christians face as we seek to live out our faith in the contemporary world. This Sunday, we begin with the question, "Can Christians Be Spiritual But Not Religious?" May we all grow deeper in faith this fall as together we seek to understand how God speaks in our time and place. Information on the full series is attached to this email.
Adult Studies This Fall
Beginning Sunday and through Advent, the Discipleship Ministry Team has prepared excellent study opportunities for all adults at MPC. Each Sunday at 9:45a.m. there will be two offerings -- one focused on the Bible and what it means for us today and the other focused on issues faced by Christians in the 21st century. The Morningside Bible Class will meet in Room 201 and the Faith Issues Class will meet in the Session Room. The Menu for all of these opportunities is available in the Narthex, and is attached to this email.
