THE CALL TO CONFESSION
THE PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Righteous God, we confess that we have sinned against you in thought,
word, and deed. We have professed our faith in you, but our words ring hollow.
We do not live by the truth we speak. We turn aside from those in greatest
need and fail to love our neighbors as ourselves. Forgive us for seeking to
serve you merely by saying the right things. Empower us by your Spirit to live
according to your word, so that people may see our good works, and glorify
you as the true Savior and Redeemer. Amen.
A MOMENT OF SILENCE (for examination of conscience and personal prayers of confession)
THE ASSURANCE OF PARDON
