Celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Walter Huff, Organist/Choirmaster
Special Music - Bach, Haugen & Rutter
________________________________________________________________________
FLOWERS THIS SUNDAY
The flowers in the sanctuary are given to the glory of God and in recognition of Walter Huff’s 20 years of music at Morningside Presbyterian Church.
TODAY’S SPECIAL MUSIC
As a representation of the variety of musical styles offered in Sunday worship during Walter Huff’s service, the choir presents three distinctly different choral selections today. John Rutter is a highly renowned and prolific British composer. His music is very popular especially in the United States, and in terms of performances and publications, he is probably the most successful choral composer of his generation. Composer Marty Haugen wrote You Are Salt for the Earth to be used as a “processional song” for outdoor worship, during a residency at Holden Village, a retreat center in the state of Washington. Bach’s Mass in B Minor is a musical setting of the complete Latin Mass. The Mass was probably never performed in totality during Bach’s lifetime, and largely disappeared in the mid-18th century. Today, it is widely hailed as the monumental work of the late Baroque period.
CHURCH DIRECTORY PICTURES
This Sunday, new members will have their pictures taken following worship in Room 201. If anyone else has not gotten their picture taken yet, please stop by at this time. There will be additional opportunities to get your directory picture taken on November 7 and the next new member Sunday, December 5. Sign up for an appointment on the bulletin board outside of the Session Room or contact the church office.
AIDS WALK
Morningside Church is participating in the 2010 AIDS Walk Atlanta this afternoon at 2 p.m. If you would like to participate, contact Keith Blount.
SIX STAR

We need strong backs to help move on Monday. Contact Betsy Armstrong (770.396.6496) or Holly Campbell (404.233.0045) if you can help.
BIBLE AND BRUNCH - OCTOBER 21
This fall, we have begun a new monthly event at Morningside that combines Bible study and fellowship.
