Throughout October, the Faith and Issues class has been exploring some of the key questions of faith. MPC member and Emory Ph.D. candidate Amy DeBaets leads a session on the question, "What does 'Jesus died for my sins' mean?" This class meets in the Session Room each Sunday at 9:45 a.m.

CHILDREN: Today the Preschool class will hear Plenty to Eat and discover how a famine reunites Joseph with his family.  The Younger Elementary Class will hear Isaiah’s prophesy that God will bring the exiled Israelites home. THOUGHT OF THE WEEK
"Even if I knew that tomorrow the world would go to pieces, I would still plant my apple tree."
~Martin Luther

Bible and Brunch - October 21
This fall, we have begun a new monthly event at Morningside that combines Bible study and fellowship. This Thursday, October 21, at 10 a.m., you are invited to gather in Room 201 for a study of Ephesians 2:1-22, a powerful call to unity and mission. Childcare provided. After the study, we'll gather for brunch at a local restaurant. All are welcome!

Haiti Pilgrimage
Fourteen Morningside members have returned from a week-long pilgrimage to Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Don't miss Fellowship Hour this Sunday, October 24 when they will share their experiences.

WOMEN'S ROUNDTABLE
Next Monday, October 25, Women's Roundtable will meet at the home of Amy Jarratt, 1697 N. Pelham Rd. at 6:30 p.m. The speaker will be Belle Miller McMaster, professor emerita at Candler School of Theology, Emory University. Belle will talk about why the Presbyterian Church has a particular concern about government. This is a timely topic as America goes to vote. Plan to join us. Email the church at office@morningsidepc.org or call 404.876.7396 to let us know you are coming.

Mittens for the Children at Our House
Join our preschool community in donating mittens, hats, gloves, and scarves for children through 5 years old that attend Our House preschool in Decatur. Our House is a preschool for children facing homelessness. Bring in items by October 29, so that they can have them before the first frost.

Church Directory Pictures
Don't miss a chance to get your picture taken this fall. We'd love to start 2011 with a complete digital directory. Sign up for an appointment on Sundays, November 7 or December 5 after worship in Room 201 by contacting the church office. All that is needed is five minutes of your time and your smiling faces!

Habitat Interfaith Build
Hindus, Jews, Muslims, Christians, and Buddhists from all over the Metro Atlanta area are building every Sunday through November 21. Please contact Lynsley Tyler (lynsley@bellsouth.net) if you are interested in this unique opportunity--space is limited.

MPP
Show your school spirit by wearing our brand new Morningside Presbyterian Preschool t-shirts! We have our beautiful purple and gold logo on the front of a white, short-sleeved t-shirt in sizes from 3T, 4T, youth S through L, and adult S through XXL. T-shirts are $15 each, must be pre-paid and may be ordered by placing payment and order information in Sarah Tomaka's box in the church office. Please indicate size, quantity and contact information.

Did you know...
...that 800 pounds of donated items were collected and delivered by our 14-member mission team to Haiti? Thanks for your generosity!
