HAITI PILGRIMAGE
The fourteen Morningside members who have returned from a week-long pilgrimage to Port-au-Prince, Haiti will share their experiences today after worship in Fellowship Hall.
WOMEN’S ROUNDTABLE-OCTOBER 25
Women's Roundtable will meet at the home of Amy Jarratt, 1697 N. Pelham Rd. tomorrow night at 6:30 p.m. The speaker will be Belle Miller McMaster, professor emerita at Candler School of Theology, Emory University. Belle will talk about why the Presbyterian Church has a particular concern about government. This is a timely topic as America goes to vote. Plan to join us. MORNINGSIDE PRESBYTERIAN PRESCHOOL
Please join our MPP families and friends at El Taco (1186 N. Highland, Avenue, 404.873.4656) this Tuesday, October 26. Our generous friends at Fifth Group Restaurants will donate 20% of the night’s proceeds to MPP! Dinner is served from 5-10 p.m. and be sure to mention to your hostess you are there in support of MPP. (If we have over 40 supporters, we will receive 20% from the entire restaurant sales that night. If we have less than 40 supporters, we will receive 20% from our supporter’s sales.)
MITTENS FOR THE CHILDREN AT OUR HOUSE
This is the last week to join our preschool community in donating mittens, hats, gloves, and scarves for children through 5 years old that attend Our House preschool in Decatur. Our House is a preschool for children facing homelessness. Bring in items by this Friday, October 29, so that they can have them before the first frost.
DRESS UP EARLY
The children of MPC are invited to join in the fun at 9:45 a.m. next Sunday, October 31 by either coming dressed as someone from your favorite Bible story or choosing a costume once you arrive. (There are plenty of costumes here!) Meet in Room 001 for lots of merriment. RSVP to Melinda at msandkam@morningsidepc.org by Wednesday, October 27.
THEOLOGY ON TAP
Men of Morningside, be sure your calendars are marked for Theology on Tap, next Tuesday, November 2 at 7 p.m. We will gather at the home of Ken Sharpe (1700 Timberland Road, 30345). Topic: "The Future of the Faith." We'll discuss the place of the church, and of our church, in the contemporary world. IS PEACE WITH JUSTICE POSSIBLE IN ISRAEL/PALESTINE?
All are invited to this one-day conference with Palestinian and Israeli speakers, Carter Center staff members, and authors of the recent Presbyterian Church (USA) Middle East Study Committee report. The conference will be Saturday, November 6 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Trinity Presbyterian Church. Cost is $30 and includes lunch. THANKSGIVING GATHERING PLANS UNDERWAY
Volunteers are needed for the annual Thanksgiving Gathering. This event is a great outreach for our preschoolers and their parents and will be held on Monday, November 8, 5:30-6:45 p.m. Games, music and dinner will be featured. HABITAT INTERFAITH BUILD
As part of the Presbytery's Peacemaking Committee, we are joining forces with people from many different faith traditions to make affordable housing a reality for one Atlanta family. Hindus, Jews, Muslims, Christians, and Buddhists from all over the Metro Atlanta area are building every Sunday through November 21. An Interfaith worship service starts off each build day. Please contact Lynsley Tyler (lynsley@bellsouth.net) if you are interested in this unique opportunity--space is limited.

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION AT MORNINGSIDE
Bible Class - Faithful Disagreement: Wrestling with Scripture in the Church
Next week, the Morningside Bible Class continues its series on the diverse interpretations of scripture in the church today. We will study 1 Corinthians 12-14 and discuss the ways in which we discern the movement of the Holy Spirit in the church today. This class meets Sundays at 9:45 a.m. in Room 201, and all are welcome.
Faith and Issues Class - Questions Christians Ask
Throughout October, the Faith and Issues class will be exploring some of the key questions of faith that we encounter. Next Sunday, Rev. Mary Miller Brueggemann leads a session on the question, "What difference does baptism make?" This class meets in the Session Room (103) each Sunday at 9:45 a.m.
Children’s Classes
Today the Preschool class will hear Plenty to Eat and discover how a famine reunites Joseph with his family. The Younger Elementary Class will hear Isaiah’s prophesy that God will bring the exiled Israelites home. Older Elementary Classes will consider Isaiah’s prophesy, which announces that God’s love and promises are trustworthy.
