9:45 a.m. Church School for all ages / Inquirers Class
ADULT: The Morningside Bible Class continues its series on the diverse interpretations of scripture in the church today. We will study the farewell conversations between Jesus and his disciples in John 13-17. The Bible Class meets each Sunday at 9:45 a.m. in Room 201, and all are welcome.
The Faith and Issues class continues its three-week study on the great ends of the church. MPC member Dr. Mardee Rightmyer leads this series, which includes discussion on the meaning and purpose of our mission and ministry in the contemporary world. This class meets in the Session Room (103) each Sunday at 9:45 a.m.
CHILDREN: The Preschool class will hear The Tall Wall and discover how God brought Joshua and God's people to their new land. The K-1 Class will hear Jeremiah's new covenant prophesy. Older Elementary Classes will consider how the new covenant will change the people of God.

If you have not returned your pledge card and Time and Talent form for 2011, please be sure to mail them to the office this week or bring them to church on Sunday. Your pledges allow us to plan for the year ahead, and enable Morningside to continue its important ministry and mission. CELEBRATING THE MINISTRY OF CHRIS HENRY
Please join us on Sunday, December 5 as we celebrate Chris Henry's ministry at Morningside with a pot-luck luncheon following Chris' farewell sermon in worship. Bring your favorite dish and a favorite story to share. We will pass the microphone around Fellowship Hall, so that all who wish to, may share a brief memory of Chris' ministry. If you would like to contribute to a church-wide gift for Chris, make your check payable to MPC with Chris Henry gift noted on the memo line.
ONE GRAY HAIR LUNCHEON
One Gray Hair will meet this Wednesday, November 10 at 12 noon in the Fellowship Hall. Sanda and Bill Means will be our special guests and will bring a program about their trip to Italy this summer. Please let us know if you are able to attend.
LYDIA CIRCLE
Lydia Circle will hold its next meeting this Thursday, November 11 from 7-9 p.m. For more information or to RSVP contact Tara Parrish at taraparrish@bellsouth.net.

Cookbooks and Christmas Cards
Support MPC's outreach programs with your purchase of an MPC Cookbook and box of Christmas cards. Shepherds from the Mission Committee will be selling these items before and after worship through Sunday, December 14.
CONGREGATIONAL MEETING
The session has called for a congregational meeting immediately following worship this Sunday, November 14. At this meeting we will elect a slate of elders and deacons who will serve three-year terms. We will also elect congregational representatives for the 2011 officer nominating committee.
SUNDAY FORUM: TAPPED OUT
Important questions about water security and faithful stewardship of water resources will be discussed at our Sunday Forum this Sunday in the Fellowship Hall, following the congregational meeting. As a partner church with the Presbytery's Earth Covenant Ministry, Morningside is hosting Tapped Out: The Drying Up of Atlanta. Riverkeeper Sally Bethea will show a PowerPoint presentation that examines the causes of the water crisis in the Chattahoochee River watershed and offers solutions for us all.
DRUID HILLS NIGHT SHELTER
If you can help provide a dish this Sunday evening for the men of the Druid Hills Night Shelter, contact Curt Barrett at emailcurt@mindspring.com.
PAGEANT PRACTICE BEGINS
The children of MPC will begin practicing the Christmas pageant this Sunday morning, November 14 at 9:45 a.m. If your child has not yet signed up or if you can sew a costume, help with set beforehand, or be a backstage crew member at the performance (December 19, 5 p.m.), contact Melinda Sandkam.
ATLANTA COMMUNITY FOOD BANK
The ACFB Canned Food Drive kicks off this Sunday, November 14! They are in need of canned fruits, vegetables, soups, fruit juices and peanut butter.
Did you know...
...that a book by MPC member Carol Senf, Bram Stoker, will be published this month by the University of Wales Press as the first in its series "Gothic Authors: Critical Revisions?" Stoker, who is known for Dracula, also wrote a number of short stories, novels, and essays, many of them not Gothic.
