1st Sunday of Advent
9:30 a.m. Coffee and Conversation
9:45 a.m. Church School for all ages / Inquirers Class
ADULT: Throughout Advent, the adult Sunday school classes at Morningside will combine to study the Christmas portion of Handel's Messiah. The class will be led by MPC member Elizabeth Rice, who has spent her life both teaching music, and singing professionally. We will focus both on the music Handel wrote for the Messiah as well as the Biblical texts that make up the libretto. What a wonderful way to prepare for Christmas, and our special music Sunday on December 12! Come and join us in Room 201 each Sunday morning at 9:45 am.
CHILDREN: The story Lions and Bears! will show the Preschool class how David saved his lambs from scary lions and bears. Younger Elementary children will begin Advent with a lesson about the Zechariah. Older Elementary Classes will consider Zechariah’s difficulty: a message to give and no voice to speak it.
