CHILDREN: Today, the Preschool Children will hear about Anna and Simeon, two people who waited their whole lives for Jesus' birth. Elementary Classes will study the Message of the Wise Men in Matthew 2:1-12.

In the past I always thought of gratitude as a spontaneous response to the awareness of gifts received, but now I realize that gratitude can also be lived as a discipline. The discipline of gratitude is the explicit effort to acknowledge that all I am and have is given to me as a gift of love, a gift to be celebrated with joy.

Christmas Eve Services at Morningside

Early Christmas Eve Service, 4 p.m.
All are welcome to this child friendly worship service. The Adult Handbell Choir, Children's Chimes and two young soloists will lead the music. Melinda Sandkam and Rev. Mary Miller Brueggemann will lead the worship service that will include scripture read by our youth. A nursery will be provided.

Candlelight Service of Lessons and Carols, 8 p.m.
Experience one of Atlanta's great Christmas Eve traditions as our Chancel Choir, choir alumni and guest instrumentalists combine in offering an evening rich with variety, drama, and the beauty of our candlelit sanctuary. Liturgists will be Rev. Kellie Anderson-Picallo and Rev. Mary Miller Brueggemann. Childcare provided. Doors open at 7:15 p.m.

GUEST PREACHER THIS SUNDAY
We welcome Rev. Kellie Anderson-Picallo to Morningside as our guest preacher this first Sunday after Christmas. Rev. Anderson-Picallo is the Associate for Media and Education at Auburn Theological Seminary in New York City, and she is the daughter of Andy and Nancy Anderson.

Celebrating Rev. Mary Miller Brueggemann
Fellowship Hour this Sunday will be hosted by the Deacons of Morningside to honor Mary's year of ministry with MPC. Please join us as we say thank you and good bye.

CHURCH OFFICE CLOSED
In celebration of the Christmas season the church office will be closed Friday, December 24 and Monday, December 27.
