Texts: Micah 6:1-8; Matthew 5:1-12

THANK YOU
Many, many thanks to all who worked so hard to make Sunday’s service the wonderful experience of worship that it was. We had to place chairs in the aisles to accommodate our crowd! It was wonderful to gather in worship and continue in fellowship in the name of Jesus Christ on this much anticipated day. - Baron Mullis

FEBRUARY 6 ISN'T JUST THE SUPER BOWL
More than 20 years ago, Souper Bowl of Caring began with a simple prayer from a single youth group: “Lord, as we enjoy the Super Bowl football game, help us to be mindful of those without even a bowl of soup to eat.” Since that day, more than $71 million has been raised for local charities across the country. The Double Digits of Morningside (4th-7th graders) invite everyone to bring $2 to give to the Souper Bowl offering next Sunday, February 6. MPC will give its offering to Atlanta Community Food Bank.

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION AT MORNINGSIDE
Adult Sunday School Classes
Did you know that Morningside’s retired pastor, Joanna Adams, helped write our denomination’s newest confession of faith? How does it speak to the church’s mission in the 21st Century? Did you know that in February, the Presbytery of Greater Atlanta will vote on whether to add a new statement to our Book of Confessions? What does the Belhar Confession, written in response to the South African apartheid regime infecting even the church, have to say about the unity of the church amid the controversies of today? Find out more with the Morningside Bible Class and Jack & James Klotz in the final installment of I Confess! What We Say it Means to be Presbyterian, next Sunday, February 6 at 9:45 in Room 201.
Children’s Classes
Today, the Preschool Class will learn about another sick child who needed Jesus’ help. Elementary classes continue their study of the Sermon on the Mount. Younger children will focus on salt and light. The Older Elementary Class and Double Digits will consider how others will know we are Jesus’ followers.
