THOUGHT OF THE WEEK
God is more generous than we are, and if that’s a problem, then more fool we. Perhaps the gospel is not good enough for us, but for those who are habitually a day late and a dollar short, who are wherever we are not by merit but by grace, we, and I among them, are grateful for a generous and compassionate God who finds room for us and for people like us at the close of the day.  - from “Justice and Generosity” by the Rev. Prof. Peter Gomes (Dr. Gomes died last week.)

PANCAKES AND PAJAMA PARTY
All are invited to celebrate Shrove Tuesday at our annual MPC and Preschool Pancake Supper and Pajama Party this evening from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. in Fellowship Hall. Enjoy dinner while Ruby the Clown delights the children with his tricks and antics. Kids are invited to wear their favorite PJs. We continue our collection of new pajamas, socks and underwear for Threads, a children’s clothing ministry of All-Saints Episcopal Church.  Please bring your donations to the Pancake Supper.

ASH WEDNESDAY SERVICE
Plan to join us for our Ash Wednesday Service, March 9 at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary. This solemn and sacred worship service marks the beginning of the season of Lent and includes the imposition of ashes. Childcare will be provided in Room 105.

LYDIA CIRCLE
Lydia Circle will hold their next meeting this Thursday, March 10. For more information or to RSVP contact Tara Parrish at taraparrish@bellsouth.net.

COUPLES GROUP
All couples are invited to the next gathering of the Couples Group this Friday, March 11 at 7 p.m. The event will be hosted by Todd Brawner and Peter Clayton (425 Kensington Parc Drive, Avondale Estates)! RSVP to Kathy and Al Bremer at kdbremer@bellsouth.net.

VOLUNTEERS STILL NEEDED FOR THIS WEEK’S HABITAT BUILD

COFFEE & DESSERT WITH BARON
In the month of March, every MPC member will be invited to a gathering with our new pastor.  Most of them are 7:30-8:30 in evening, except for this Saturday, March 12, 3-4 p.m. in Decatur.  Though you will be invited to a location relatively close to where you live, you are welcome to attend a different one if it is a better time.  See the list of locations and dates on the website and be sure to RSVP, so we know where to expect you!

MOTHER/DAUGHTER BEADWORK EVENING
This Saturday, March 12 moms, mother-figures, and misses (2nd gr. and older) will enjoy beadwork, mosaic-making, pizza and an intro to Calvin Center’s horse camp from 6 to 8 p.m. in Fellowship Hall. RSVP today to Shavon Starling-Louis shavon.starlinglouis@students.Ctsnet.edu.

Daylight Saving Time begins this Sunday, March 13. Remember to set your clock ahead one hour before going to bed Saturday, March 12.
