WORSHIP THIS SUNDAY
Welcome to worship at Morningside Church. Please complete the information in the Friendship Pad at the end of the pews and pass the pads down and back again during the Concerns portion of worship. Worship notebooks and books for children are located on the kiosk outside the sanctuary. Nursery for infants is in Room 105; toddlers 18 months through 2 years are in Room 012. Children ages 2-11 are invited to leave after the Peace of Christ for special classes. Threes, fours & fives are in Room 011; K - 1st grade in Room 001; 2nd - 3rd grade in Room 003; Double Digits are in Room 005.
FLOWERS IN THE SANCTUARY
The flowers in the sanctuary are given to the glory of God and in celebration of Ibby Bailey's birthday by Laura and John Fillyaw (daughter & son-in-law).
WELCOME
We welcome Sarah and Gene Martin as our guest musicians today. They have been friends of Morningside in recent years, filling in for our organist/choirmaster Walter Huff, in times of his absence. Walter is presently serving as Chorus Master for two productions with San Diego Opera.
LENTEN BANNERS
Lenten Banner #1 entitled “Hand in Hand Amidst the Journey” represents the unsettled turmoil that we come with to the beginning of Lent. The issues of life, questions, cares and deep sighs of the soul along with the story of Jesus' death stir us deeply. The maroons, golds, rusts and burgundy batik fabrics represent the thunderstorm of emotions that come with Lent.
Lenten Banner #2 entitled “Labor Along the Journey” represents the last few weeks of Lent. The thunderstorm has subsided. We are coming to the end of Lent. Though many questions and concerns linger, the peace of Christ walks with us along the journey. The work of labor continues but the reassurance of the Holy Love of God through Jesus gives us comfort. The batik fabric shades of blue, gold and rust represent the calming and comfort of God.
ANNUAL REPORT
