THOUGHT OF THE WEEK
"‘If a thing is worth doing, it is worth doing poorly.’  Don’t wait until you have all the equipment, all the training and all of the courses you need (unless you’re a brain surgeon).  If God gives you a dream, don’t spend too many hours, days and months in getting ready.  Launch out!”  - Bruce Larson, On the Road Again, The Journey of Life

INSTALLATION OF THE REV. DR. BARON A. MULLIS
You will not want to miss this significant milestone in the life of our faith community! At 11 a.m. this Sunday, March 27 we will gather in worship for the Service of Installation of The Rev. Dr. Baron A. Mullis as pastor of Morningside Presbyterian Church. The Chancel Choir will offer Charles Gounod’s Sanctus featuring guest soloist Jeanné Brown.

Members of Baron’s Installation Commission will include:  The Rev. Joanna M. Adams, The Rev. David Weitnauer, The Rev. Tom Evans, The Rev. Paul T. Roberts, Martin Dunlap, Sis Newsome, and Romona Lavender.  We are also honored to welcome The Rev. Dr. Douglas W. Oldenburg to our pulpit.  He will be preaching a sermon entitled, “Not Knowing Where We’re Going.”  Baron and Dr. Oldenburg worked closely together at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, where Dr. Oldenburg served as Parish Associate and ultimately became an important mentor to Baron.  A reception will follow in Fellowship Hall.

COFFEE & DESSERT WITH BARON
In March, MPC members received invitations to coffee and dessert gatherings with our new pastor at a location relatively close to them. However, you are welcome to attend a different gathering, if it is more convenient. Remaining dates are March 24, 29, 30, and 31. For more information, visit our website and be sure to RSVP, so we know where to expect you!
