FLOWERS THIS SUNDAY
The flowers in the sanctuary are given to the glory of God by Ellen Brown and James Landers in celebration of their wedding on April 2 in the Morningside sanctuary.
WELCOME
We welcome Sarah and Gene Martin as our guest musicians again this morning. They have been friends of Morningside in recent years, filling in for our organist/choirmaster Walter Huff, in times of his absence. Walter is presently serving as Chorus Master for two productions with San Diego Opera.
CONGREGATIONAL MEETING
A brief congregational meeting will take place immediately after worship Sunday, April 10, for the purpose of dissolving the vacant Associate Pastor position. The position can be re-established easily whenever we choose to add staff; this vote will save the church money by our not having to pay into the pension fund for a vacant job.
THEOLOGY ON TAP
This Tuesday, April 5 at 7 p.m. Theology on Tap will gather at the home of Ken Sharpe (1700 Timberland Road, 30345). You may ask yourself what does the baby Jesus have to do with Lent? Well, according to Dr. Thomas G. Long, a great deal. The men will be discussing Seasons' Greetings by Tom Long from the March 21-28, 2001 issue of The Christian Century. All men of Morningside are welcome for dinner and discussion. RSVP to the church office (office@morningsidepc.org), if you would like to attend.
WALK FOR LENT
The Morningside community is invited to walk for an hour during Lent. There are varied dates, times and leaders. The last walks will be 6:30 p.m. on Monday, April 4 and Wednesday, April 13. Check out the bulletin board and website for more information.
COUPLES GROUP
MPC Couples Group will meet for dinner and conversation on Friday, April 8 at 7 p.m. at Franco's Restaurant (corner of Cheshire Bridge and Piedmont). Anna and Miguel Garcia are hosts for the evening. All couples, members and visitors, are welcome. The Couples Group gets together for dinner on the second Friday of each month, and new couples join each month. RSVP to Kathy and Alan Bremer, kdbremer @bellsouth.net, 404-872-3001.
SUPPORT INTOWN COLLABORATIVE MINISTRIES
Please bring canned foods (especially canned meats and vegetables) and pop-top items to the Welcome Center baskets April 3-24 to support our homeless and nearly homeless neighbors. We also need 8 volunteers to work the food pantry Saturday, April 9, 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. For more information or to sign up, contact Shepherd Nancy Collins ncollins0209@gmail.com.
SERVING DINNER AT DRUID HILLS
Sign up on Mission bulletin board to assist with serving dinner to 30 men at Druid Hills Night Shelter next Sunday, April 10. Contact shepherd Curt Barrett emailcurt@mindspring.com with any questions.
LYDIA CIRCLE
Lydia Circle, a group of young female professionals and moms, welcomes members and visitors of MPC to join them for their next gathering on Thursday, April 14 from 7-9 p.m. at the home of Tamara Nix (1732 N. Rock Springs NE Atlanta, 30324). The group is pleased to welcome our new pastor, The Rev. Dr. Baron A. Mullis, as the special guest that evening. Please email Tara Parrish at taraparrish@bellsouth.net to RSVP and for any other details.
YOUTH MISSION TRIP 2011

Donations from the event benefit the continuing rebuilding of St. Joseph's.
TAI CHI
Spring Tai Chi instruction and practice continues on Wednesdays at 2 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. There will be 10 weekly classes altogether.
