THOUGHT OF THE WEEK
“Humor is a prelude to faith and Laughter is the beginning of prayer."
- Reinhold Niebuhr

CONGREGATIONAL MEETING
A brief congregational meeting will take place immediately after worship this Sunday, April 10, for the purpose of dissolving the vacant Associate Pastor position.  The position can be re-established easily whenever we choose to add staff; this vote will save the church money by our not having to pay into the pension fund for a vacant job.

SERVING DINNER AT DRUID HILLS
Sign up on Mission bulletin board to assist with serving dinner to 30 men at Druid Hills Night Shelter this Sunday, April 10.  Contact Curt Barrett emailcurt@mindspring.com to help.

MISSION TRIP MEETING
If you are interested in going on the Adult Mission Trip to New Orleans May 16-21, be sure to attend the meeting this Sunday, April 10 at 12:30 p.m. in Room 201.  Duncan Spears will be able to answer your questions about cost, transportation, and the RHINO (Rebuilding Hope in New Orleans) program.

WALK FOR LENT
The Morningside community is invited to come together for the last walk of this Lenten season on Wednesday, April 13. We will gather in the Welcome Center at 6:30 p.m.

SUPPORT INTOWN COLLABORATIVE MINISTRIES
Please bring canned foods (especially meats and vegetables) and pop-top items to the Welcome Center baskets April 3-24 to support our homeless and nearly homeless neighbors. We also need 8 volunteers to work the food pantry Saturday, April 9, 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m.  For more information or to sign up, contact Nancy Collins ncollins0209@gmail.com.

NEW MEMBER SUNDAY
Are you thinking about joining Morningside Church? Palm Sunday,
April 17 is a great time to do it! Plan to attend the Inquirers' Class that Sunday at 9:45 a.m. in the Session Room. Please be in touch with Baron Mullis (404.876.7396, x11 or baron.mullis@morningsidepc.org) to let him know of your interest.

ST. JOSEPH'S HAITIAN DANCE BENEFIT
On Monday, April 18 at 7 p.m. you are invited to enjoy The Resurrection Dance Theater of St. Joseph's Home for Boys as they perform traditional Haitian dances in the Cannon Chapel of the Candler School of Theology on the Emory campus. The Morningside Session will be in attendance, so bring a friend and join other MPCers for a great night. Donations from the event will benefit the rebuilding of St. Joseph's since the 2010 earthquake.

Spring Tai Chi instruction and practice is continuing on Wednesdays at
2 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.  For further information or to sign up, contact Barbara Ray, 404.876.7892 or barbray@mindspring.com.
