Baron Mullis preaching

"Keeping the Night Watch"

Texts: Philippians 2:5-11; Matthew 26: 14-16; 36-46

WELCOME

We welcome Sarah and Gene Martin as our guest musicians this morning. They are filling in for our organist/choirmaster Walter Huff who is presently serving as Chorus Master for two productions with the San Diego Opera.

HOLY WEEK WORSHIP AND EVENTS

HOLY WEEK BANNERS

Banner #1 is entitled Grace of the Earth. The greens and batik prints of foliage represent the path with branches and palm leaves laid to honor Jesus as he entered Jerusalem. The batiks show the clouding of the sun in the sky with the gray-green shading. The fabrics move from light to dark representing the impending crucifixion.

Banner #2 is entitled God’s Power in Our Midst and represents the night of Jesus’ arrest and the crucifixion. The rust and gold batiks represent the blood moon with the brown, gold and dark batiks representing the storm and agony of the event. Again, the fabrics move from light to dark representing the power of Christ’s life, death and resurrection.

ST. JOSEPH'S HAITIAN DANCE BENEFIT, APRIL 18
